This project is commission a Stage Technical Consultant to provide technical advice to the main design team for the proposed redevelopment of the Colston Hall, Bristol. The commission will be for the period Monday 31.3.2014 until 30.3.2015 and managed via a consultancy agreement. The commission may be extended after 30.3.2015 if required. The consultant appointed will have a key role in working with the appointed design team to move forward proposals which will result in the development of a world class concert hall. The intention is to develop through a re-imagining and substantial new build within the envelope of the existing grade II listed building. It is the intention of Bristol City Council to appoint an acoustician or acoustician practice to work as part of the design team, led by the architects, Levitt Bernstein.

Tenderers should also be able to provide public and employers liability insurance at 5 000 000 GBP and 10 000 000 GBP respectively. Tenderers should be able to provide Professional Indemnity insurance at 2 000 000 GBP. Tenderers must provide a minimum of 2 years full set of accounts as a part of the financial assessment. The appointment and services to be undertaken by the Stage Technical Consultant is subject to the Council receiving additional funding for this project. At present there is limited funding available to assist the architects, Levitt Bernstein, with the design work to enable the Council (working with the Colston Hall Trust) to bid for additional external funding to deliver the whole project.
