Typical outline specification as follows (precise details to be provided in the invitation to tender following pre-qualification);
— Fibre glass catamaran hull able to carry a minimum of 8 personnel to include suitable welfare facilities and suitable for the retrofitting of survey equipment by others (ABP),
— Stable working platform,
— Less than 5.20 m beam,
— 12 m to 14 m length overall,
— Less than 25 tonnes,
— 22+ Knots transit speed,
— Moonpool and retractable transducer mount,
— Ability to be serviced within ABP’s in-house maintenance facilities.

III.1)Conditions relating to the contract

III.1.1)Deposits and guarantees required:

No deposits are required with requests to participate. Details of guarantees, warranties and parent company guarantees required under the Contract will be advised in the Tender Documents or at the prequalification stage. A 10 % performance bond, insurances and a parent company guarantee will be required from the successful tenderer immediately following award of contract.

The works are to be wholly financed by Associated British Ports. Provision for payments, retentions, warranties and liquidated damages will be detailed in the tender documentation.

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: The applicant must demonstrate extensive previous experience and strong technical ability relating to projects of this nature. The applicant’s financial position and history must be strong and the applicant must accept the form of contract in III.1.4 above. Designers must hold appropriate professional qualifications.

III.2.2)Economic and financial ability

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: The applicant must demonstrate a strong financial position. The following information must be submitted with the request to participate.
a) Statements and references from the applicants bankers.
b) Statements of the applicants overall turnover on similar works for the preceding 3 financial years.
c) The applicant’s full audited accounts for the preceding 3 financial years.
d) The applicants company registration number and details.
e) Details of the applicant’s insurance provisions together with current copies of insurance certificates.
f) Details of any litigation or claims against the applicant in the last 3 years.
Information relating to parent companies is also required for items a) and c) above.

III.2.3)Technical capacity

Information and formalities necessary for evaluating if the requirements are met: a) The applicant must provide evidence of technical competency and proven track record in relation to the design, manufacture and delivery of similar vessels satisfactorily put to work in the last 5 years in both the UK and Worldwide including the applicants contract value and client. Details must clearly state the scope of the works and degree of responsibility of the applicant.
b) The applicant must provide precise details of its organisation structure, evidence of adequacy of resource and details of the qualifications and experience of key management and other personnel proposed for involvement in the project.
c) The applicant must provide copies of all policy and systems documentation demonstrating the applicant’s management of health, safety, environment and quality issues and regulation. This must also include details of HSEQ performance statistics and any notices or actions served on the applicant during the preceding 3 years.
d) Technical capability and product support in the UK.
