Description
Leicester City Council is looking for a contractor with experience of creating and installing durable exterior information panels in a variety of locations.
• General description
A total of 12 interpretation panels are required for installation in various locations across Leicester city centre.
The panel design is not required and finished artwork will be supplied in electronic format. All necessary permissions for installation are the responsibility of the client.
Panels must be anti-vandal proof and able to withstand wet weather, sunlight and UV and changes in temperature.
Panels must be constructed to the specification given and made to the specification supplied for each location. Please review the attached PDF below “Heritage Interpretation Boards “which provides information on location and size.
Panels must be installed by the contractor and affixed in a secure way to the specification given.
Panels include:
– 1 off vinyl graphic overlay using UV long life external ink applied to face and edges of existing board with high-tack block out adhesive. Apply PVDF anti-graffiti film to face to offer chemical resistance, UV protection and extreme temperature tolerance.
– 2 off flat panels in 3mm aluminium with anti-corrosive powder coating to all sides with vinyl graphic overlay using UV long life external ink applied to face and edges of board with high-tack block out adhesive. Apply PVDF anti-graffiti film to face to offer chemical resistance, UV protection and extreme temperature tolerance. Panel to be mounted in tray of powder-coated aluminium with 40mm return. Tray to be fixed with angle bracket.
– 9 off panels in 3mm aluminium with anti-corrosive powder coating to all sides with vinyl graphic overlay using UV long life external ink applied to face and edges of board with high-tack block out adhesive. Apply PVDF anti-graffiti film to face to offer chemical resistance, UV protection and extreme temperature tolerance. To be fixed to existing railings with stainless steel security fixings, riveted sign channel to reverse and A2 anti-vandal Kinmar removable nuts. Fixed with fence fixing kit.
Tenders will be assessed on quality and durability (30%) and price (70%). An evaluation criterion is attached below which outlines information on how the contract will be evaluated.
