The Our Heritage Project (Gwynedd and Conwy Strategic Heritage Tourism Project) has been developed in response to the need to maximise the economic value and community benefits of Gwynedd and Conwy”s local heritage assets and history. Tourism is the main economic sector in the Gwynedd and Conwy region, and the investment proposed through this project will aim to ensure that visitors and local communities experience lasting experiences by making the local history alive and relevant to the population of today and by increasing the number of visitors, and the length and value of visit to the region.
The project aims to build upon the ”Princes of Gwynedd” project led by Conwy County Borough Council. It will provide an integrated approach across Gwynedd, Conwy and Snowdonia National Park to reveal and enhance the cross cutting stories across the themes of Origins, Pre History and Roman Invasion, Inspirational Landscapes, Edwardian Castles, Industrial Nation and Events to further encourage exploration of the cultural landscape.
The purpose of this commission is to appoint a suitably qualified specialist to prepare interpretive plans, research and write content and script for all interpretive content including content for the CMS, website, leaflet, interpretation boards and digital information points and implement hub exhibitions on the themes of Origins, Pre History and Roman Invasion, Inspirational Landscapes, Edwardian Castles and Industrial Nation within selected hubs. The hubs exhibitions will provide a brief insight/snap shot into the themes that Cadw have identified and will provide information on the hub and act as a link to other sites within the cluster.
