Description of the goods or services required

Suppliers must register interest in this contract opportunity through the Public Contracts Scotland (PCS) procurement portal – www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk. The pre-qualification questionnaire (PQQ) documentation is availabe for download from there.

Suppliers should submit their completed pre-qualification questionnaires through the secure postbox on Public Contracts Scotland no later than the stated deadline. The postbox facility will not accept any submissions after the deadline and it is the responsibility of suppliers to ensure submissions are received before the deadline.

The project comprises sixteen workspaces housed within modified recycled shipping containers, and fitted out as office accommodation. The gross total floor area is 9256sq/ft over three stories, with a central stair and lift. The development features roof mounted PV panels linked to the grid, and benefitting from the Government’s Feed In Tariff scheme. Each workspace has a heat recovery unit and glazing to one elevation.

The project must be completed by no later than March 2013 and design information is currently at Stage D. The programme is restricted and the client seeks efficiencies wherever possible – particularly during the next phase of design and main contractor tendering.

The site is located at Dundee Waterfront and contributes to the development’s bid for BREEAM Sustainable Communities status. The project aspires to BREEAM Excellent status and an independent consultant will be commissioned to advise the team on this aspect prior to main contractor tendering.

We anticipate the contract will commence in early August 2012 and SE will utilise the NEC3 Professional Services contract. The successful team must be prepared to re-visit the cost plan and undertake a value engineering exercise prior to progressing the design.
