Birmingham Community Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to procure design team services on behalf of Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust to support the redevelopment of their site. The VITA project, as it is known, covers the redevelopment over the next 5 years and will include new build in-patient ward accommodation and a major refurbishment of the existing hospital site to address clinical functionality.
The design team is to be a consortium consisting of, but not limited to, the following: Lead Consultant, Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Structural Engineer, Building Service Engineer, CDM Co-Ordinator, BREEAM Consultant, Health Planner, Planning Consultant, Traffic Consultant, Ecologist, Programme Management and Business Case Writing. The design team will provide support to the Trust to completion of a comprehensive OBC and will include additional services as and when required throughout the project lifecycle through to construction.
Please note the Trust intends to procure a construction partner via Procure21+ and overall responsibility for the project will pass to them once the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) is agreed.

Precise information on deadline(s) for lodging appeals: BCHC will incorporate a minimum ten (10) day standstill period at the point when the contract award is communicated to the tenderers. This period allows unsuccessful tenderers to seek further debriefing form BCHC before contract award.
If an appeal regarding the award of a contract has not been successfully resolved, the Remedies Directive 2007/66/EC of 11 December 2007, OJL 335/31 20/12/07 provides for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in the High Court (England, Wales and Northern Ireland). Any such action must now be started within 30 days beginning with the date when the economic operator first knew or ought to have known that grounds for starting the proceedings had arisen.
