The contract term will be for an initial period of 5 years with periodic options to extend (exercisable in accordance with the terms of the partnering contract and in line with pre-agreed performance criteria being met) up to a maximum period of 15 years.
It is expected that any amount made available by Sport England for priming the Project will be recovered by Sport England from income generated by the Service Provider during the initial five year period of the contract.
It is anticipated that the Project will involve spogo being developed further by the Service Provider to ultimately deliver a solution which enables the general public to find venues and scheduled activities, in order to engage in sporting and physical activities across England and to facilitate the online booking of such sport and physical activities. The aim of spogo is to contribute to increasing the general public’s participation in sport and physical activities.
The core technical solution (“the Solution”) to be provided by the Service Provider shall include as a minimum, but shall not be limited to:

Due to the nature of the Project, there are likely to be directly relevant technological advances during the term of the contract and it shall therefore be necessary to revise any baseline technological specification in line with such advancements. Sport England therefore reserves the right to reflect (by way of a pre-agreed change mechanism) a revised specification which reflects the general level of technological advancements in relation to products and services similar to (or replacing) any such baseline technological specification.
The Service should also be able to produce data that will then be consumed into a separate insights generation system. Such data will include raw data to generate statistics on the use of the Service.
The current pilot service is called spogo and specific elements of it will be made available to the Service Provider if requested: The following elements have been identified at this point in time:
a. The branding work that has been done on the spogo branding, colour schemes, etc. should be reused
b. NGBs and clubs data as it has been significantly improved via the spogo pilot
The current pilot service is a website that can be accessed at this address: www.spogo.co.uk
