Digital mapping system. Procurement of a ruggedised Aircrew Moving Map wire alerting system in order to reduce operating risk on UK helicopter platforms. This procurement will cover initial acquisition and a period of support for the system. The system shall be operated by aircrew, i.e not integrated into the aircraft and will use approved MoD data, referenced by GPS to provide alerting and visualisation of recorded wires and obstructions based on MoD mapping sources. The product required must:
a) have internal GPS;
b) not be a transmitting device;
c) be capable of receiving MOD data (i.e AIDU/UKHO AML Data and DVOF);
d) be operable whilst wearing Aircrew gloves;
e) provide optimised battery life;
f) be capable of effective operation in flight by aircrew;
g) be available as demonstration model for aircraft evaluation (Ground and Flying) during July/August 2013;
h) provide a data validation function.
