Domestic Care Services Staffordshire – Communicator Guide Service

Staffordshire County Council on behalf of Staffordshire Stoke-on-Trent Partnership Trust, are seeking expressions of interest from suitable organisations for the provision of a ‘Communicator Guide Service’ to support sensory impaired service users across the County of Staffordshire by suitably trained and qualified ‘Communicator Guides.’ They would support service users either in their home or elsewhere within the County in accordance with their personalised individual support plan to achieve their chosen outcomes. For this service, qualifying persons would have dual sensory impairment, or physical disabilities which include dual sensory impairment or health or age related problems and have been assessed as capable of benefiting from the service. There will be no guaranteed hours and payment will be based on the actual service delivered as a unit charge per hour. In the Invitation to Tender (ITT) outline key criteria to be considered for selection include: • Achievement of the service specification objectives and outcomes for service users and carers • Outcomes will include the requirements of ‘Social Value’-Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 • Achievement of quality assurance of the service to include service user satisfaction, continuous improvement and robust safeguarding • Demonstration of management and staffing structure to cover the County, suitably qualified staff related to this client group and robust staff training and ongoing development plans including safeguarding procedures. • Demonstration and explanation of an Implementation Plan to deliver the service.
