Anti-Doping is one of five functional areas within the Glasgow 2014 Sport Department, and has the responsibility for the delivery of all elements of an anti-doping programme for the Games, which includes the specific function of doping control.
For clarity, and specifically related to this tender, doping control is the process for the collection of a urine or blood sample from an elite athlete, which is then analysed by an accredited World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Laboratory to ensure that the athlete has not used any prohibited substances to aid their performance, in breach of the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) Anti-Doping Standard or the WADA Code.
Glasgow 2014 are seeking to engage with an experienced and suitably qualified Doping Control Contractor to provide the services required to plan and deliver the doping control programme for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, via a turn-key operation.
