This project involves the monitoring of aquatic plant communities in lakes and the collection of basic physical and chemical data in support of our national and international obligations and targets. In particular, this work will support management and restorationof protected sites and the delivery of River Basin Management Plans.

This project will collect, process and supply to NRW ecological and limnological data from a network of lake sites across Wales, in support of NRW’s integrated monitoring programme for protected sites (SACs and SSSIs), the Water Framework Directive, and other legislative and policy drivers. A short report will be produced.

This work requires you to undertake macrophyte surveys on 17 lakes from the NRW monitoring network using the standard UK method . Subject to budgetary availability, NRW may request additional lakes to be surveyed. Each lake must be surveyed in the period July – 22 September 2015.
