Description of the contract

Electric spark tester for assessing stimulus required for initiating energetic materials To be supplied, an electric spark tester that generates and applies electrical spark discharge through electrodes at energy levels set by the operator (0.045, 0.45 and 4.5J) to a sample placed between the electrodes in a test chamber, in accordance with EMTAP test number 6. The spark discharge chamber should be sufficiently robust to withstand initiations of energetic material in the sample holder. Operators must be able to safely observe the electrical discharge. Safety interlocks must be incorporated to protect the operator from electrical discharges. Operator specific controls, such as key interlocks, would be beneficial. To assist with space planning please provide dimensions and weight of equipment. The tester should be powered by mains electricity supply through a 20A SPN Marechel DXN1 plug comprising the inlet and handle (Ref no 2518015 + 251A753). If sample holder(s) are supplied, they should comply with the requirements outlined in the EMTAP testing manual for EMTAP test number 6. Sample scoops for loading sample plate are desirable. Consideration will be given to customer service, support and training packages. Please specify any options available for these items with the tender.
