Ipswich Borough Council (IBC) is responsible for the provision of Rewires in Council Managed Properties within the Ipswich area and directly provides the maintenance of various types for these properties. The department of the Council responsible for these operations is known as Ipswich Borough Contacts. A review of these services has recommended the tendering of the Electrical Rewire Contract, which will, therefore, form the basis of the requirements of the Request for Proposals that will be issued as an Invitation to Tender. It is intended to allow for the complete rewire of each property from the meter head position right through to each connection of each final sub circuit (of all existing circuits within the property) and, for the addition of circuit as prescribed within latter parts of the specification. The contractor is to include all materials (wiring and accessories) necessary to complete the installation. There is an Electrical Rewire Specification ref updated by B Pearce which is included in the documents for information. (Appendix 2), This also includes for Electrical inspections at 5 yearly intervals, this is 4 year contact with 1 year plus 1 year extension.nb The contact will start on 1.10.2014.
