Description of the contract

Leicester City Council wishes to appoint one energy service provider to be the preferred supplier each time a domestic Council property becomes vacant for the supply of gas and electricity services. The extent of the arrangement will be that: Leicester City Council will transfer electricity and gas supplies to the preferred supplier each time a domestic Council property becomes vacant. Leicester City Council will also appoint the preferred supplier as gas supplier to domestic properties having gas central heating installed for the first time. The energy partner will provide funding to Leicester City Council, in return for properties registered to the energy partner for gas and electricity supplies during re-occupancy and for first time gas central heating installations. It should be noted that Leicester City council cannot guarantee the length of time for the registration as tenants have the option to choose their own suppliers(s). As the preferred Energy Supply Partner the successful tenderer will introduce an effective Void Management Scheme that encompasses the provision of Meters and Energy Supplies to Void Properties. For the avoidance of doubt the successful tenderer will be the nominated preferred supplier to the Councils domestic housing stock only and the Council Office/Business premises will not be included in this arrangement. The term of the Agreement will be 3 years commencing 5th January 2014 and shall be extended at the Council’s sole discretion for periods of 12 months at each anniversary of the commencement date up to a maximum contract length of 5 years.
