A single supplier framework will be established to deliver the Enterprise Fellowship Programme over 39 months. It is anticipated that the framework will be in place from 1.6.2012 and run until 30.9.2015.
Please note that a Web Conference will take place on Tuesday 7.2.2012 from 11:00am until 12:30pm to provide an opportunity for potential bidders to ask questions about the requirements of the programme.
When you submit an expression of interest via PCS you will be added to the invitee list. Please keep this date free in your schedule if you wish to participate.

The Enterprise Fellowships Programme supports, develops and enables entrepreneurs from an academic or technical background. It is funded by Scottish Enterprise (SE), Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and is delivered in partnership with the Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE).
SE, BBSRC and STFC, supported by RSE, are seeking to appoint a single supplier framework to deliver the training and development component of the Enterprise Fellowship programme. It is anticipated that the framework will run for 39 months from 1.6.2012 until 30.9.2015.
Successful applicants to the three currently funded streams of the programme receive 12 months salary support, a small amount of business development funding and a programme of entrepreneurial training and development.
The training and development component will be an integrated programme of training sessions, personal development, business support, mentoring and networking opportunities. The purpose is to enable Enterprise Fellows to make a personal transition from academia to business while successfully commercialising their technology idea, most likely through the launch of a new growth oriented technology businesses.
The year long programme is delivered to successive cohorts of Enterprise Fellows inducted onto the programme every 6 months. The training provider must be able to provide a highly personalised intensive level of support to each individual while balancing the needs of the broader group and capitalising on the dynamic within the group.
At the end of the 12 months, each Fellow should be in a position to present a business plan for the exploitation of their technology and have a clear vision of how to move forward with their business.
The training provider should be able to demonstrate knowledge, skills and expertise in the following areas:
— innovative and flexible delivery of training and development of early stage technology entrepreneurs as they build growth businesses,
— successful approaches to the commercialisation of technology via a spinout or start-up company,
— national and international experience related to the stimulation and growth of new technology based firms,
— the UK innovation support infrastructure as it relates to spin-outs and technology start-ups,
— research base, private sector and public sector activity related to the stimulation and growth of new technology based firms in the UK.
