Description of the contract

English Heritage has put in place guidance and templates for carrying out Equality Impact Assessments (EqIA). All six equality strands are covered: Disability; Race; Age; Gender; Sexual orientation; and Religion and Belief. English Heritage now wishes to undertake a full EqIA for all its casework activities. These are undertaken by a number of teams in the organisation, representatives of which will be involved in this process. The casework activities to be included in the Impact Assessment are listed below. We require a full EqIA, including the delivery of an appropriate external consultation process with the groups identified above to: •Assess who our statutory casework activities impact upon, identify the general nature of these groups and any specific issues relating to them which may differentially affect their ability to access our casework activities; •Identify any barriers to access to our activities which may be preventing people from engaging directly or indirectly with English Heritage. These could include sensory and intellectual access to advice and guidance documentation, application forms or any other relevant activities; •Identify, through desk research and consultation as appropriate, any potentially negative impacts and actions to mitigate the risk of discrimination where this is high; •Identify the impact of our casework processes on those parts of English Heritage other than the teams currently directly involved in this EqIA; •Identify and propose to the English Heritage project board practical actions that English Heritage could take to improve its level of service and note the outcomes these are aimed to achieve; and •Deliver, following agreement with the English Heritage project board, a full report on the findings of the research and a fully drafted EqIA in the standard English Heritage template, together with an appropriate agreed action plan and timetable for implementation.
