2.2

Description of the goods or services required

Creative Scotland and Glasgow Life are working in partnership to deliver the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme on behalf of the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee.

The Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme will be a key part of the Games experience for spectators and visitors. Running from the ‘One Year to Go’ milestone in July 2013 and extending beyond the Closing Ceremony, it will showcase the best of Scottish culture alongside creative work from across the Commonwealth. It will be a nationwide celebration of the Games, reaching a peak as Glasgow bursts into life at Games time. The total budget for the Cultural Programme is up to £13 million.

Glasgow Life and Creative Scotland will jointly commission and manage a programme of evaluation research to assess the outcomes of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme. The partners are interested in understanding outcomes in three broad areas:

– An outcome evaluation focusing on Festival 2014 and Culture 2014 including the full range of projects and events;

– An evaluation of the artistic quality of presented work; and

– A process evaluation examining the approach taken by the Partners to developing and delivering the Programme.
