Exhibition Skills Workshop

Scottish Enterprise seeks to appoint a supplier to undertake a series of training interventions for 18 months, throughout Scotland, to equip technology companies with the knowledge, tools, skills and confidence to enable them to deliver professionally-managed exhibition stands. Few companies are aware of the time involved or place enough emphasis on strategically planning, undertaking and following up on exhibitions, instead concentrating solely on the day(s) of a trade show

Exhibition Skills Workshop

Description of the goods or services required

Scottish Enterprise funds the annual Scottish Technology Showcase with a programme that includes: demonstrations of the latest technologies; presentations and knowledge transfer; and brokered meetings. The 2012 event provides exhibition space, workshop sessions, keynote speeches, a technology demonstration zone and a brokered meeting area. In 2011, 76 companies took up the opportunity to exhibit. However, feedback from this and previous events is that the exhibitors lacked the knowledge and skills required to maximise the opportunities provided.

Scottish Enterprise seeks to appoint a supplier to undertake a series of training interventions for 18 months, throughout Scotland, to equip technology companies with the knowledge, tools, skills and confidence to enable them to deliver professionally-managed exhibition stands. Few companies are aware of the time involved or place enough emphasis on strategically planning, undertaking and following up on exhibitions, instead concentrating solely on the day(s) of a trade show.

The training sessions will assist participants to: build strategic exhibition marketing plans and tactical plans; and learn tools, techniques and best practice, to enable them to manage their exhibition attendance to achieve optimum results. This will allow companies to achieve increased ROI from exhibiting at shows, specifically the Scottish Technology Showcase, which is particularly important during the current economic climate and whilst companies have only limited marketing budgets.
