This work started in 2015 from an identified need to promote West Sussex to a new, younger target market from London and the wider South East as a place to visit and stay, based on the ‘best’ of what the County has to offer the audience. The aims have been to introduce a new audience to the County and its businesses; to support the visitor economy and have a positive economic impact from increasing visitor spend; and encouraging more visitors to stay overnight. The campaign messages and content have also been used to encourage residents to enjoy and experience ‘what is on their doorstep’.

For 2017, the campaign goals are:

— +28 700 social followers and page likes

— 147 667 engagements on social media

— 28 147 link clicks to the website

— Onsite engagement: under 70 % of time on site +50 seconds

The core service is to propose a marketing plan annually to achieve the objectives (and initially for 2018) to include the design, delivery and evaluation of the ‘Experience West Sussex’ digital marketing campaign for the year.

The additional service is to propose, as part of the marketing plan, additional marketing activities to achieve the objectives.
