Facilities management services to the High Temperature Research Centre (HTRC):
Building maintenance services:
The building maintenance services provision will consist of planned preventative and reactive maintenance to include the following:
— fabric maintenance,
— Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance (MEM),
— re-lamping,
— fire detection systems and fire suppression/extinguisher systems,
— lifts, hoists, cranes, MEWPS, forklift trucks, shackles, lifting strops and conveyance systems,
— security-CCTV, intruder systems and access control,
— hard landscaping maintenance,
— water hygiene,
— statutory inspections,
— building management system,
— Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP),
— portable appliance testing, excluding IT equipment,
— pressure systems (excluding laboratory pressure systems),
— control of plant rooms and riser cupboards — in addition to general site cleanliness the ‘Provider’ will be responsible for keeping all plant rooms and riser cupboards free from rubbish at all times and must also ensure that they are secure/kept locked at all times.
Cleaning and ancillary services:
The cleaning services provision will consist of:
— routine cleaning,
— periodic cleaning.
The ancillary services provision will consist of:
— washroom consumables,
— sanitary towel disposal,
— dust entrance mats,
— pest control,
— waste management.

1) H and S — CHAS/SSIP. It is University policy that contractors operating on the University Site shall be registered with or accredited by CHAS (the Contractors Health and Safety Scheme — www.chas.gov.uk), SSIP or equivalent. tenderers must provide evidence in the form of a valid certificate of current CHAS/SSIP registration/accreditation/membership. Any award of this contract will be conditional on the contractor/subcontractor maintaining that accreditation for the period of the works/project/framework;
2) The provider shall be certified to ISO 9001 and hold membership of the British Institute of Facilities Management.
