Norfolk County Council currently has a number of Family Intervention Projects and Parenting Support services across Norfolk. All of which contribute and support Norfolk County Council in the provision of services to help maintain and improve the lives of children, young people and families and prevent homelessness. Following a review of the services currently provided against the projected needs of Norfolk, Norfolk County Council has agreed that a focused commissioning process needs to take place to ensure that the future services best match the needs of service users. Further to Paragraph 3 of the Best Value Statutory Guidance issued by the Secretary of State for Local Government in September 2011, the Council is consulting current and potential providers of these services about options for the future delivery of the service. A ‘Concept Viability’ event is being held to explore the Authority’s plans further, prior to a contract notice being issued and applications being invited. We are aiming to hold the event on 29.5.2013. It will provide an opportunity to find out more about Norfolk County Council’s Commissioning plans for the Family Intervention Project and Parenting Support Services and to provide feedback on these plans. The event also aims to inform providers of our intentions and what we hope to achieve, to ascertain what potential providers see as areas of risk, to discuss how best to integrate social, environmental and economic considerations into the procurement in line with the Public Sector (Social Value) Act 2012 and to find out what (if anything) would stop interested parties applying for this business opportunity.
Places will be limited to 2 people per organisation (to be limited to 1 if numbers become unmanageable). If you are interested in this opportunity you are advised to attend the event. To book a place please e-mail sourcingteam@norfolk.gov.uk providing your name, organisation name, e-mail address and contact telephone number, quoting ‘NCCT40283 Concept Viability Event ‘ in the subject line of your e-mail. Venue details, times and a draft specification will be emailed to you on or around 13th May.
