Description of the contract

The Centre for Public Health Excellence (CPHE) at the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) wishes to commission fieldwork to test the forthcoming draft recommendations on ways to reduce the harm done by domestic violence. Fieldwork is undertaken for some CPHE guidance to test the draft recommendations with those who will be responsible for implementing them. The fieldwork phase runs in parallel to the stakeholder consultation on the draft guidance. Further information about the fieldwork methods and process can be found in Appendix M of Methods for the development of NICE public health guidance (third edition, 2012) and Chapter 8 of The NICE public health guidance development process (third edition, 2012). The purpose of this brief is to invite quotations to field test the relevance, use, acceptability and ease of implementation of the draft recommendations on domestic violence for those who work in health, social care, and in specialist domestic violence settings. Draft recommendations are being developed by a specialist Programme Development Group (PDG) based on the best available evidence of effectiveness and cost effectiveness as well as a review of barriers and facilitators. The findings of the fieldwork report will be considered by the PDG in November 2013 and will inform the final guidance, due to be issued in February 2014.
