Fire-alarm systems. Fire extinguishers. Emergency lighting equipment. FCHO’s intention is to establish a mutually beneficial partnership and FCHO welcomes responses from Applicants large and small with similar aspirations. We are expecting innovative proposals from Applicants who feel that they can contribute positively to the provision of fire safety systems.
The successful Applicant will be awarded under this Contract on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender (MEAT). It is intended that the Fire Safety Systems Services (“Services”) will be in a place for a term of 2 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years based on performance.
The scope of the Contract will encompass aspects of a fully managed Fire Safety Systems Service including, Servicing and Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems, Emergency Lighting Systems and Fire Extinguishers.
The service and maintenance of the above mentioned systems are to be carried out to a combination of communal areas, office blocks and residential buildings. The successful contractor will be required to provide FCHO with 24 hour emergency repair cover for 365 days a year.
The approximate number of systems and the frequency of test intervals are as follows:-.
Fire Alarms – A minimum number of 16 sites, rising to potentially 40 sites, subject to an agreed contract extension. These systems require testing at frequencies of 3 months and 6 months respectively.
Emergency Lighting Systems – A minimum of number of 70 sites, rising to approximately 150 sites over the next 4 years. These systems will require testing at 6 monthly intervals.
Fire Extinguishers – A minimum of 33 sites, consisting of 270 assets, rising to a maximum of 57 sites consisting of 770 assets. These shall be tested annually.
The estimated value of this contract is in the range of £25 000 to £75 000 per annum, the contract will be for an initial period of 2 years with an option to extend for a further 2 years based on performance.
The contract terms to be used to deliver this service will be the “JCT measured term”.
