Tameside MBC is looking to contract with a provider to develop and operate a flexible and innovative service that meets the needs of people at risk of social exclusion in Tameside.
The service’s function is to prevent homelessness and has two interrelated areas:
1. Support for households that are vulnerable and have housing related support needs.
Households eligible for this service will either be homeless or at risk of homelessness. This includes households that have moved on from accommodation based support services which will have provided initial support in the community.
2. A structured activities programme including both formal and informal activities and learning opportunities for people receiving housing related support services.
This service will provide structured activities to ensure that all people in housing related support services have access to a range of purposeful activities and learning. The objective of the activities is to enable service users to become more independent and self-sufficient to help them achieve successful move on, both within the service from temporary to permanent accommodation and from the service into sustained independent living.
