Flood – prevention works. construction of, generally, a 1 200 mm high reinforced concrete flood control wall around the perimeter of substation sites (including outdoor compounds). the installations will normally include flood gates, water sumps and intelligent pumps. in addition some or all of the following measures may be introduced.
Installation of flood protection to door openings;
Raising ventilation holes;
Raising walls; and.
Sealing cable troughs and walls (e.g. using Bentonite).
It is intended that the above works will be procured through a framework contract which itself will be procured through a competitive tender process.
