Sandwell MBC’s P2P Team are seeking companies to partake in the following:
the following tasks are to be carried out to enable the design and construction of the footbridge.
conduct site inspection and walkover survey to confirm the general location and layout of the proposed footbridge.
conduct site investigation to enable the position and depth of the proposed footbridge foundation to be identified, expose the extend of the existing ha-ha, area to be dug out with care to avoid damage to the existing structure, foundation to be sited a minimum of 1 metre behind ha-ha so as not to affect the existing structure.
excavate trial pit to establish ground conditions and identify suitable founding depth for foundations, if when excavating the trial pit it is found that the ground conditions are not suitable for a mass concrete foundation then pile foundations may need to be considered, this will mean the need for additional ground investigation to establish the pile design parameters.
design concrete bridge foundations, bridge type must be known to establish the size of the foundations and the bridge connection detail i.e how the bridge is to sit on the foundation.
produce construction and setting-out drawings for the bridge foundations
