Forestry land valuation contract, We will be awarding a contract for appropriately qualified valuers to provide professional and technical advice and services to the Commission for the production of valuations relating to Forest and Woodland for inclusion in its Annual Accounts. The successful valuers will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge, understanding and practical experience of: valuation standards as they relate to Forests, Woodlands and associated land: land management, particularly relating to Forests and Woodland: the markets within England, Scotland and Wales for the sale of Forests, Woodland and associated land: carrying out similar work for other clients.

We intend to award a contract for suitably qualified valuers to undertake sample valuations of our forests and woodlands. The sample valuations shall be extrapolated by the valuers, to produce valuation matrices for use by the Forestry Commission to determine an overall valuation of productive forests for inclusion in its financial statements.
Sample valuations shall be undertaken in England (some 90 samples covering around 16 000 Ha), Scotland (some 100 samples covering around 38 000 Ha) and Wales (some 45 samples covering around 9 000 Ha). Except where otherwise agreed, the valuation shall comply with RICS Appraisal and Valuation Standards and be in accordance with International Accounting Standards.
Valuations for the 2013/14 to 2016/17 accounts shall be based on FC specific valuation indices to be produced by the valuers.
The successful valuer must have the necessary qualified staff and be conversant with the relevant regulations and standards associated in this market place.
The Forestry Commission will provide a full list of contacts for each forest office, the successful bidder will then work with these contacts to agree a plan to ensure the valuation timings meet with the Forestry Commission deadline.
