Hull City Council is seeking to enter into an agreement with a supplier / suppliers for a Foundation Certificate in Systemic Practice to commence delivery between October and December 2013 on a rolling basis throughout each calendar/HEI year, over three years.
This programme of accredited learning is required to support radically new ways of working with families involved in children’s social care in Hull. It is fundamental to the success of our redesign of the whole system operating model and ‘Reclaiming Frontline Practice’ initiative. The use of a systemic approach in social care is complementary to other approaches to preventative and early intervention services currently being developed within the council and taken together, these initiatives will provide a comprehensive system of support to families whatever their presenting difficulties.
Training is necessary to enable the incorporation of systemic ideas and techniques into workers’ professional practice by developing systemic knowledge and skills to increase the effectiveness of direct work with families and professional relationships. Learning also needs to increase worker confidence in employing a range of systemic perspectives and interventions. We require a university accredited programme delivered by experts in family therapy, over the course of three years on a rolling programme basis – with the specific aim of qualifying 80 practitioners per annum – 240 practitioners in total over three years.
The contract will run from 21st October 2013 to 20th October 2016. No extensions will be granted to this contract.
