The Frail Elderly programme is the culmination of work undertaken within the Birmingham and Solihull Health and Social Care System whereby potential pressures have been identified in relation to an ageing population and the current systems ability to meet their desired outcomes whilst maintaining financial stability.
The Frail Elderly Programme is aimed at prevention, promoting support and maintaining independence for older people via transformational change.
The following four strategic sub-groups have been identified from the programme:
1. Generic frail elderly;
2. Stroke;
3. End of life care;
4. Dementia the above have been identified as priority areas to improve outcomes for the frail elderly and ‘scale up at pace’ good practice and innovation.
Through a Market Engagement event the Birmingham and Solihull Cluster would like the opportunity to share these developments with providers and receive views around shaping the proposals further.
The event will be held on Monday 16.7.2012, 12:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Aston Business School Conference Centre, Aston Street, Aston Triangle, Birmingham, B4 7ET.
