Description of the contract
Ofgem requires a consultant to develop materials (essentially Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and associated printable indexed “book” format) to provide training in the technical aspects of gas and electricity supply chains (i.e. from production to consumption) for non-engineers in Ofgem.
The objective of this training is to ensure that non-engineers in Ofgem have a sound understanding of the technical/engineering aspects of the industries we regulate. This understanding should embrace the basic principles of the gas and electricity supply chains including their design, operation and component parts.
We envisage that the materials would be developed in modules addressing specific issues but would form a coherent overall training package. They would start from the very basic principles of how these systems work and would progress to more complex issues (e.g. reactive power management and voltage control)
