Gas appliance maintenance services. The Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced contractor to carry out the maintenance, servicing and repair of commercial heating systems for the Council’s sheltered housing schemes and flat blocks. There are 19 sites (comprising 42 boilers) currently covered under this contract. It is a requirement of this contract that all appropriate appliances and flues are serviced annually and have a valid gas safety certificate at all times, in addition there is a requirement for a boiler house check once a month. The contract requires 24 hour 365/6 days a year responsive repairs and emergency call cover and is required to meet the response times shown in the documents. Please note that Stevenage Borough Council is currently procuring Gas Auditing Services via the Alliance framework, due to the fact that the audit service and gas servicing cannot be carried out by the same contractor, a candidate who is successful in being awarded the audit service will not be considered for this Gas Servicing contract.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender.
