Description of the contract

ZEISS Laser Scanning Microscope (LSM 510) Blue Diode META LJMU would like to receive quotations for the 2 distinct operational requirements below. 1. Microscope Relocation (within LJMU premises) The microscope is currently installed and operational in our Peter Jost Centre and is to be relocated to a ground floor room in our James Parsons Building. This will require the microscope to be moved along approximately 500m of road on the LJMU Byrom Street campus site. There are no stairs involved. As part of the relocation the following operations are anticipated • Disconnect microscope and prepare for transport • Transport between buildings (a suitable vehicle with at least 7.5t capacity is expected) • Install and commission microscope in new room • Confirm performance to original specification. In relocating this microscope, any parts required must be Zeiss original parts or as specified by Zeiss. All fixtures and consumables must be as specified in the Operation and Installation Manuals of the microscope or as otherwise specified by Zeiss. Any operating software to be installed in the commissioning of the microscope must be suitably licensed. The recommissioning must be warranted for a minimum period of 12months from completion, optionally 24 months from completion (please specify as a separate option) 2. Microscope Annual Service Contract – (Including at least one routine maintenance visit). The routine maintenance visit must cover all identified service points in the Zeiss operating manual and / or as otherwise specified by Zeiss. In undertaking any service work during the service contract period, any parts used must be Zeiss original parts or as specified by Zeiss. All consumables must be as specified in the Operational Manuals of the microscope or as otherwise specified by Zeiss. Any conditions relating to the interaction of the service contract and the warranty must be explicitly stated in the quotation. All routine service visits under any service contract entered into by LJMU must be completed and invoiced prior to 31st May 2014.
