Description of the contract

The supplier will be responsible for doing analysis and stakeholder engagement for the electricity and fossil fuels sector of the Global 2050 Calculator Excel model. The electricity sector will allow the user to explore the potential role for the supply of electricity from nuclear, renewables, CCS and conventional fossil fuels in the period to 2050. The supplier would also be responsible for analysis on the availability of fossil fuels and hydrogen. An important role of the supplier is to ensure that key expert stakeholders around the world agree with the methodology and assumptions. The work will extend from Aug 2013 to Dec 2014. Bids will be assessed on the basis of: team working ethos and logistics; technical skills/knowledge; international credibility (ideally the contractor will be based in or have links to India, Brazil or South Africa); and access to technical stakeholder networks.

Completed tender submission must be emailed to Sophie.hartfield@decc.gsi.gov.uk by 7th June 2013 (2300 hours, UK (BST) time) headed TENDER SUBMISSION. Interviews, if deemed necessary, will be held on 13th June (suppliers will be notified of this on 11th June). If successful and upon contract signature, the supplier is expected to attend a one-week kick-off meeting taking place in August. Project completion is required by end December 2014.
