Total quantity or scope of tender

The graphic design commissions will require involvement from the consultant at all stages of the project life cycle including feasibility, concept design, cost management, detailed design, procurement, manufacture, installation, delivery and handover. The consultant will require to demonstrate with examples that they have this capability and that they have successfully secured and delivered similar projects in the past.

The consultant will be required not only to be inventive, inspirational and pro-active in terms of suggesting appropriate interventions and solutions to design issues but will also have the capability to take on all the project management required though to completion and handover including cost management, specialist services procurement and undertake community consultation and engagement where necessary.

Some of the commissions may require the consultant to recommend, appoint and manage specialist suppliers and subcontractors to carry out manufacture and installation services of the final scheme.

A key part of the consultants’ service will be the involvement during the feasibility stage. The initial brief for each commission may be very high level, the consultant will be required to take the lead during this brief development stage, this will normally involve community and stakeholder engagement.

The consultants should be capable of working in all types of media including, internet, video, social networking, music and print. They will require to work very closely with ri and its private and public partners, jointly agreeing and assembling any graphics elements and ensuring communication with site owners, tenants, main and sub-contractors and maximising community engagement and publicity and via the Greenock Telegraph, national press and media where appropriate and local websites.
