II.1.3)Short description of the contract

Transport for Greater Manchester’s (TfGM’s) existing contracts for the operation and maintenance of its light rail system, Metrolink, expire in 2017. TfGM will be tendering for the new contract in 2015. TfGM consider the light rail system to be a tram and will be procuring on this basis.
TfGM is issuing this notice to advise that it intends to commence a procurement under the negotiated procedure of Directive 2004/17/EC during 2015.
TfGM is interested in organisations, consortium and supply chain members. When the procurement is commenced the requirements for financial standing and technical expertise will be confirmed in the OJEU Notice and/or accompanying procurement documentation.
