The Royal Borough of Kingston (Kingston Council) is seeking to appoint a Health and Safety consultancy to support the chartered health and safety practitioners which form the in-house team. Kingston Council, like all local authorities, has many Health and Safety responsibilities as an employer and landlord. The Council requires an effective and accessible health and safety advisory service which can provide information and audit services in support of in-house staff, so as to enable health and safety to be effectively managed by RBK. This will include experience of safety issues as they impact on all local authority services including schools (e.g. specific curriculum matters), domestic housing including high rise accommodation, residential care homes, management of waste, highways, all matters relating to statutory building compliance including fire safety risk assessments. The consultancy will assist RBK in having sufficient competent health and safety and fire safety assistance, as required by Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and Article 18 of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
