Kent County Council (the council) is the largest county council in England covering an area of 3 500 km². It has an annual expenditure of over 900 000 GBP on goods and services and a population of 1 300 000. The Council provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district council’s seven clinical commissioning groups and 289 parish/town councils.
The Council has a statutory responsibility for Public Health and procures a number of services, which aim to improve the health of the population and reduce health inequalities across the county.
The Opportunity
Kent County Council (KCC) will be inviting tenders for a 12-month contract to increase uptake of NHS Health Checks in areas of greatest deprivation in Kent. This will be conducted as a mini-competition through the Public Health Dynamic Purchasing System.
The contract will run from 1.10.2015-30.9.2015. The maximum contract value is 45 000 GBP.
The contractor will be required to:
— Increase uptake of NHS Health Checks in areas of greatest deprivation across Kent
— Apply innovative techniques and methods to motivating people to have an NHS Health Check if they are eligible
— Evaluate the effectiveness of the methods or intervention and contribute to the wider evidence base on how to increase uptake of NHS Health Checks
— Demonstrate added value, including increased social value, associated with delivery of the contract.
— Work collaboratively with other commissioned service providers to undertake NHS Health Checks.
Expression of Interest and Tender Process
In relation to Kent County Council’s Public Health DPS notice number: 323771-2014 The Council has up a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for Public Health Services to allow the Council to buy Public Health Services from a list of approved providers who meet a certain minimum standards and agree to a common set of contractual terms Approved providers will then be able to bid for the Council’s contracts to deliver Public Health Services.
Should you wish to tender for this opportunity, you must apply to be part of the Public Health Services DPS, applications to be included in this tender opportunity must be submitted to the DPS no later than 12.8.2015. When expressing an interest in the opportunity, you will then be emailed an invitation to submit a Questionnaire to be added to the DPS.
If you have already been successfully admitted to the Public Health Services DPS, you will automatically be sent a copy of the tender documentation when published after the 13.8.2015.
