KEYWORDS & NOTES DETAILS
Notes:
The Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced organisation to provide a Local Healthwatch Service.
Local Healthwatch organisations are being created as part of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and will launch in April 2013, taking on the work of Local Involvement Networks (LINks), but with additional functions set out in the 2012 Act. Local Healthwatch organisations are being introduced to give citizen’s greater influence over their local health and social services, and to support individuals to access information about the increased choices available to them under the reforms.
The organisation will effectively gather the views and experiences of Health and Social Care users and feed these back to commissioners and providers to inform and influence future commissioning activities and service delivery, enabling the Local Authority and other services to provide more appropriate services to meet need and demand, as well as support the preventative agenda.
The 2012 Act requires Local Healthwatch to be run by a social enterprise and any organisation bidding will need to be either a social enterprise or be willing to form a social enterprise with a go live date of April 1st 2013 for the purposes of delivering Local Healthwatch.
Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 (TUPE) will apply to this contract.
The contract will be for a period of two years with an option for up to a further two years subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funding.

If your organisation wishes to participate in this process, you need to register with the South East Business Portal (SEBP) and follow the instructions to express an interest for the Provision of a Local Healthwatch organisation.
