Healthwatch Nottinghamshire will provide the following services:

• Make the views and experiences of people known to Healthwatch England helping it to carry out its role as national champion;
• Make recommendations to Healthwatch England to advise the Care Quality Commission to carry out special reviews or investigations into areas of concern (or, if the circumstances justify it, go direct to the CQC with their recommendations, for example if urgent action were required by the CQC);
• Promote and support the involvement of people in the monitoring, commissioning and provision of local care services;
• Obtain the views of people about their need for, and experience of, local care services and make those views known to those involved in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of care services, including through membership of the Nottinghamshire Health and Wellbeing Board.;

In doing so it will build upon the work of the Nottinghamshire Local Involvement Network (LINk) and complement existing knowledge, expertise and infrastructure. It will use partnerships and collaborations to build productive working relationships with a range of stakeholders including patient participation groups, care providers, voluntary and community sector organisations, neighbourhoods and communities to provide high quality services that reach out across the whole of the County. It will use the knowledge and experiences of its service users and the voice of communities with the aim of bringing about integrated improvements in health and social care services for all.
