Description of the contract

The service is for the provision of support for Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Leicestershire to address health, work and wellbeing issues at an early stage, building upon the support services that have already been delivered to SMEs by the current provider on a pilot basis since January 2012. The objective is to prevent or reduce the likelihood of more serious and costly future illness in the working age population. The Service requirement is described in detail in the tender document. The contract period is for 18 months. There is an option to extend for a further 36 months thereafter although at this stage, there is no guaranteed funding for this. The Supplier will engage with the managers of Leicestershire SME businesses and organisations to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees in a robust and evidence based way, ensuring maximum health and cost benefits through workplace interventions. A key requirement is for the Supplier to design, populate, test and operationally develop a web based resource to publicise the Suppliers work in relation to supporting the health and wellbeing agenda for SMEs in Leicestershire. It will also be necessary to facilitate collaborative working by health partners, and share information and best practice.
