Description

Highway Management Officers within the team undertake safety inspections of the public highway looking for dangerous defects such as potholes or sticking up slabs, which we then repair. These inspections form the main part of the Council’s defence against claims for compensation following tripping accidents etc. which can involve officers giving evidence in court and being cross examined by a barrister. In order to ensure that our defence is as strong as possible we want to put our inspectors through a training and accreditation course so that they can become accredited highway inspectors.

The provider’s training; assessment and registration system should be administered and approved by the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE).

Number of staff to be trained per event: 8
Dates if known: Autumn
Venue: Prices required for both Leicester City Council or Offsite

Submissions should include:

– A course plan, including content and methods of delivery.

– Information on the certificate and awarding body.

– A short profile of the presenter(s) who will be delivering the training, including experience in this field.

– Design and delivery costs.

– Travel, meals and accommodation costs, where applicable.

– Two references.

– Insurance certificates.
