Description of the contract

The Home Maintenance Service will provide a one-stop shop to enable people to access practical help around the home and garden. The purpose is to make handyperson and gardening services available to people who need a little extra help to help maintain their living environment and provide quick solutions to minor DIY problems and garden maintenance tasks. The aim of the service is to enable people to live in their own home safely and securely while reducing difficulties and risks of managing the home without adequate support.

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs).However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement,and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender.The Home Maintenance Service will provide a one-stop shop to enable people to access practical help around the home and garden. The purpose is to make handyperson and gardening services available to people who need a little extra help to help maintain their living environment and provide quick solutions to minor DIY problems and garden maintenance tasks. The aim of the service is to enable people to live in their own home safely and securely while reducing difficulties and risks of managing the home without adequate support. The Council is hosting a Bidders event on Friday 4 May 2012 from 13:30 15:30 at Cole Court Centre, 150 London Road, Twickenham, Middlesex TW1 1HD. This is in order to provide interested organisations with further guidance on tender requirements and process. If you would like to register interest in attending this event please contact pauline.fothergill@richmond.gov.uk by 2 May 2012. Places are limited to 2 per organisation.Organisations will be expected to have sufficient experience in the delivery of Home Maintenance Service and have delivered a similar service.
