Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, NHS Foundation Trust is proposing to reconfigure and refurbish its current Emergency Dept, Children’s Outpatients and Antenatal Clinic to provide a larger Emergency Department.
The new department will consist of:
Urgent Care Centre,
Paediatric Emergency Department,
Resuscitation Area,
Major’s Department,
Orthopaedic Department,
Ambulatory Care Clinic,
Emergency Observation Ward and
Imaging Department
Support Areas
Upgrade Fireman’s lift to a Bed lift
Potential Pneumatic Tube Extension
The works will be split into approximately four phases to ensure that an Emergency Dept service can continue to run throughout the project. There will be temporary decants whilst the works are on going and as such the contractor needs to have experience with working within live environments.
The entrance into the department will move to the front of the hospital on Fulham Road, this is the main external works required on the project.
