Liverpool City Council are developing a new exhibition centre, known as Exhibition Centre Liverpool (ECL), which will have 8 100 square metres of in hall space plus support, circulation and servicing areas. The ECL will be adjacent to and will provide exhibition and event space to work alongside the successful BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena. ECL is planned to open during the early part of 2015.
The Council are planning to include an interconnected high quality hotel of up to 200 rooms as part of the project. The Council are seeking to appoint an investment and operating partner to specify, operate, own, and potentially finance and develop, the hotel. The hotel is planned to open in 2015, as close to the opening date for ECL as possible.
This procurement exercise relates solely to the hotel element of the project; delivery of the ECL is subject to a separate concurrent procurement exercise.
