Background Our client is currently recruiting for a Reward Specialist to take on this exciting opportunity to use and develop professional HR, statistical and analytic knowledge and skills supporting the Head of Workforce and Reward delivering high profile HR strategy and projects. This role is based in London and is initially until the end of April. Main Duties/ Responsibilities You will be required to assist on policy development in reward and related areas and with trade union negotiations. You will need to work closely with external stakeholders to influence and understand their policy development whilst assisting with implementation across the client. You will also provide advice on the total reward strategies, be responsible for developing draft responses to external questions / queries and Freedom of Information (FoI) requests received. You will have one direct report. Outputs/ Deliverables to be achieved The key functions of the role are : • Supporting development and implementation of the client’s reward strategy, ensuring that they can attract, reward and retain the right staff in the current economic climate. This includes performance management and other reward-related policies. • Supporting the pay award process • Supporting pay negotiations • Undertaking market analysis and paybill modelling • Line management of someone whose primary role is to manage and prepare draft responses to the large number of queries received by HR Skills/ Experience Required Key competencies and requirements for the role • Policy development • Communications – drafting, negotiating and influencing • Research and analysis Applicants should have: • Drafting skills – ideally including communicating legal/technical concepts and messages to a lay audience • Ability to work with stakeholders or comparable experience in negotiating and influencing • Carrying out analysis of data using spreadsheets, including producing the data in appropriate formats for reports and presentations (incl. charts and graphs) • Standard IT skills You will ideally have a background in Reward and an understanding of current public sector pay constraints, knowledge of wider HR policy issues and the policy development process, and the ability to develop Powerpoint presentations.
