This PQQ is to identify a subset of ICT managed service providers who can support the school’s vision and deal with the complexities of an ICT infrastructure change. The School requires:
1. The School require an IT provider to manage the network and associated ICT services, applications, hardware and infrastructure so that a stable, reliable and robust network exists at all times.
2. The school has users on-site every working day and most Saturdays. Continued access to essential data and applications is required year round, and downtime is to be minimised, and where unavoidable, planned with the school to minimise impact on teaching and learning. This includes access both on site and externally (e.g. from home).
3. Creating a positive infrastructure which facilitates learning and enables the school to meet its targets for pupil progress.
4. The School require an experienced education IT provider who can balance network security and flexibility, whilst ensuring safety of the students at all times.
5. The School require an IT provider to TUPE existing allocated staff across to their Organisation, and then reallocate them to the School as required, ensuring sufficient resources are deployed at all times to achieve requirement (1) above.
6. The School require an IT provider who can manage the transition of IT services from the existing set up (created under Building Schools for the Future, which has the school connected to a Central Server Farm), and re-establish key services over the summer (2014) period in order to provide (1) above from the start of the new academic year in September 2014.
7. The School require an IT partner who will work with them to investigate and deploy new technologies, whilst supporting their vision for mobile working, and any other developments which the school may wish to explore in the future.
