Description of the contract

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals are currently in the process of planning and scheduling the Windows 7/MS Office 2010 upgrade as part of a New Corporate Desktop project. As part of this project, there will be a requirement for support engineers able to work variable hours.

Some internal Trust engineers will be utilised, however, for the rest of the team, there will be a requirement for a pool of engineers that can be drawn upon at short notice to support a schedule where some days will be busy and others will have no deployments scheduled. This team will need to deploy PCs and provide post migration support (floor walking). Floor walking will require a level of technical competency to present a good image of Informatics to users and resolve any issues that they may have.

Requirements for this pool of engineers and supplier will be:

·STH staff induction at no cost to the project

·Evidence of having conducted this type of contract before to include the NHS

·Allow booking an engineer for a minimum of 4 hours for a shift as required

·Able to maintain a consistent pool of engineers that could be drawn down with 72 hours

·Able to deliver an agreed number of up to 10 engineers with 72 hours notice

·Staff to be CRB checked before being engaged

·Ability to cancel booked engineers within 24 hours notice without incurring fees

·Provision of use of a secured van with tail lift so that they can manage their own logistics in terms of old and new equipment

·Able to work unsociable hours (nights and weekends)

·Able to work at any STH site at no additional cost

·Professional staff in terms of presentation and attitude

·Evidence of PC build and upgrade experience

·Floor walking support, especially for MS Office 2010

·Good communication and documentation skills
