Description of the contract

The Department of Energy and Climate Change is committed to running its buildings and operations as sustainably as possible and particularly to reducing its consumption of mains water. DECC is looking for a supplier or suppliers to undertake the design, supply, installation and commission of a rainwater harvesting system in our headquarters building (3 Whitehall Place, SW1A 2AW) in order to supply water for toilet flushing (as a minimum) and to thereby significantly reduce the department’s mains water consumption.

How to apply Details of the application process can be found in Document 1 – Instructions and Information on Tendering Procedures. Completed tender submission must be returned by post to DECC, address given at the top of this advertisement, by 5:00pm on 8th February 2013. We require 2 hard copies (one of which must be signed), and an additional copy on CD using Microsoft Windows XP or earlier version. Please ensure the outside of any packaging is clearly marked with ‘Tender’ and with the deadline time and date. Envelopes/packages should bear no reference to the tenderer by name. Any late submissions will not be considered. Tenders may be rejected if the information asked for is not given at the time of tendering. DECC reserves the right to halt the procurement process and to not award a contract. DECC will not be held liable for recovery of costs from unsuccessful bids if a contract is not awarded. All costs will be borne by the bidding organisations. If a contract is created it will be upon DECC terms and conditions, which can be found in Document 5. If successful and upon contract signature, the supplier is expected to attend a kick-off meeting taking place the w/c 25 February 2013 (or the previous week if possible) and to start as soon as possible due to the need to complete work in the current financial year. Project completion is required by 31 March 2013.
