Caerleon Fortress Baths – Installation of Solar Voltaic Panels

Cadw has a requirement to reduce its carbon footprint. It is intended therefore to install solar voltaic (SV) panels on the slate roof to the Caerleon Fortress Baths at Caerleon, near Newport South Wales. The proposed capacity for the SV panels will be up to 10kW and will be situated on the south west elevation of the building. The building protects an ancient monument and is also within a conservation area. It is open daily to the public and it is anticipated that the building remains open throughout the length of the contract
The contract will also include the provision to carry out structural work to the roof within the building.
Prospective contractors must demonstrate that : –
They have worked on projects of a similar nature at ancient monuments and or historic buildings;
Evidence that the contractor has MCS Accreditation (Micro-generation Certification Scheme) which is part of the EN45011 Scheme.

The services will be procured by competitive tender and appointed in accordance with Cadw’s Terms and Conditions, through a Welsh Government Purchase Order (PO).
Applicants who can demonstrate the award criteria should complete and submit the attached Pre-qualification questionnaire by the cut off date.
A short list of applicants will be awarded via an evaluation panel that will score marks based on their evidence.
The contract will be awarded via an evaluation panel that will score marks based upon price and quality questions.
The successful applicant will be notified by letter and /or email.
