II.1.5)Short description of the contract or purchase(s)

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking expressions of interest for the Installation of Street Lighting Equipment. This is to include but is not restricted to:-
— Installation and removal of lighting columns;
— Installation of slipover columns. The successful tenderer will be required to install slipover columns in place of some existing concrete units;
— Installation of replacement LED lanterns. The successful tender may be required to install replacement LED lanterns to Group B lighting units. This operation includes removal of the existing luminaire and replacement with a pre-wired LED lantern. The successful tenderer would be expected to connect the wiring into the existing isolator / cut out and electrically test the installation upon completion.
The successful Tenderer (s) will be required to install Street Lighting Equipment at the direction of the Street Lighting Service.
The anticipated total spend is in the region of 480 000 (GBP) for the whole duration of the agreement including any extension periods.
However this does not carry any guarantee of turnover and any estimated volumes of business are indicative and may vary upwards or downwards depending on actual future needs.
The framework will be awarded initially for a period of one year, with the option to extend at the sole discretion of RMBC for a further two 12 month periods, each on a year by year basis.
The intention is to award to a single supplier, however if one supplier cannot meet the council’s requirements then it will be awarded to additional participant(s).
